BIO:
I tend to see things differently than most, I “color outside the lines” so to speak. Being “Cre8ive” isn’t just in my name, it’s my calling. My creative instrument of choice? A camera.
In photography, there are no hard rules, its interpretation, and I get to tell the story through my lens with full creative liberty.
A Michigan Native, I spent 30 years of my life in the mitten where my love for photography began at very young age as I carried around a film camera or disposable camera everywhere I went.
Flash forward to my adult years, my love for photography catapulted after I graduated with a degree in Visual Communication majoring in Photographic Technology and Graphic Design. My dream, my mission, my manifest was to combine my love for live music and photography. In 2015, I chose to embrace the unknown by leaping outside my comfort zone and began my journey to Virginia Beach to leave my mark in the entertainment industry. To date, I have over a decade of professional experience and landed some pretty rockin’ gigs along the way, many of which were assignments with FM99 and 106.9 The Fox here in Hampton Roads. I suppose “being the squeaky” wheel paid off.
People, people, people; whether live music, documentary, editorial or portrait photography (that includes those four-legged furry friends!) those styles have stolen my heart and are my subjects of choice. However, that doesn’t prevent me from dabbling in food, landscape and drone photography. I love a good challenge, a new concept and do not like to turn down a creative opportunity when it comes knocking.
Luckily, my “square peg living in a round hole” mentality jives well with my creative abilities as it panned out to be the foundation of my photographic career. Cheers to 15 fabulous years of capturing memories and documenting important life events. Cheers to the future that is going to blow the lens cap off right my camera as the journey is only going bigger and better with each day.
