“Our Navy remains a symbol of the United States; of our dedicated and skilled sailors, of our technological genius and our massive but controlled military strength, which patrols the oceans of the world on a mission of peace.” Those are the words of the 38th President of the United States Gerald Ford, who served in the Navy during World War II.
This video explores Ford’s namesake and service in the Navy, as well as the Navy’s newest carrier and carrier class, USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), which was named after him.
