Staff Sergeant Samantha Chaney was nominated by her husband Dustin, who had the following to say about her: “My wife has endured over twelve long, challenging years, during which she shouldered the incredible burden of being a single mother, pouring her heart and soul into raising our children. Then, just two and a half years ago, our lives changed forever when we met—bringing joy, hope, and a newfound purpose. Together, we are now blessed with twin boys—bright, lively, and full of life—who are nine years old, one of whom faces the unique challenges of autism. She has moved countless times across the country—from Washington to Florida—never wavering in her strength and resilience.
Throughout it all, she has fought tirelessly to better herself. She’s earned two associate degrees, a bachelor’s, and is now bravely working on her master’s, all while juggling the demands of her family. Her heart beats for others; she consistently volunteers at work, always ready to lend a helping hand. She passionately supports our community by running our youth wrestling program, instilling values of perseverance and teamwork. Now, she has embraced the role of stepmom to my two sons, ages 12 and 10, stepping into a vital, loving role since their mother is absent. Her unwavering dedication, compassion, and strength are truly awe-inspiring, and I am endlessly proud to walk this journey with her.“
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, SAMANTHA!
