Chief Petty Officer Samantha Burrell was nominated by her brother in law Chris, who had the following to say about her: "Chief Petty Officer Samantha Burrell enlisted in the navy 9 years ago hailing from Connecticut, she was one of 8 Children in her family, SO family is very important to her. She just returned from a deployment on the USS Geraldo R. Ford CVN78. Where she lead a division of Fire control man. She met the love of her life Zach, they together have Twin Boys who are 2 years. Zach has two other sons she has stepped up and is raising as her own. Sam has also step up to be a guardian of a 17 year old. She is a wonderful mother and Great sailor. I nominate her because of her loyal devotion to duty and her family."

“Austin is truly a great leader. He shows up daily for his men and women under him and provides exceptional leadership for them. Austin has been active duty for 11 years. He is truly an amazing leader.”
“Matthew is such an amazing guy always there for his family and friends and also so many kids that are not his!! He is always helping out where needed!! Always going the extra mile even though his own kids are not on the team he could be found out in the weather coaching softball for Coastal Crush. Treating every player as if they were his own. He has had so many deployments since he married my niece but no matter how far he is he always makes her feel special while missing important moments! He also treats his stepchildren as if they are his own and don’t even get me started on his own daughter. But he also teaches them all respect and responsibility. He also steps up in his career too even playing Santa this year to make sure all the kids felt all the love when Santa needed some helpers since we all know he can’t be everywhere at once!! He definitely deserves to your FM99 military hero!!”
“Adam joined the Air Force in 2001 and was stationed at Mt Home AFB in Idaho working the F-15C Eagle during the terrorists attacks that launched our country into a two decade war on terrorism. Since then he has selflessly served nearly 23 years all around the globe to include South Korea and multiple deployments to Afghanistan. He still proudly serves and is a proud husband and Father to two kids.”
“She has been in the Navy for 17 years and works hard. She essentially adopted a kid. She is always there for her family and we are glad for that.”
“Sean has been through many deployments and underways. He consistently does volunteer work for his community and helps others. He does everything in his power for his family far and near. He’s about to undergo a double jaw surgery and then continue his volunteer work in his community.”
“Bridget initially enlisted in the Army as a chaplain’s assistant, continued her career in the air national guard while obtaining her doctorate, then transferred back to Active Duty so that she would be able to treat soldiers. She has remained in the military even after having a life threatening stroke and multiple surgeries after the stroke. She is dedicated to serving her country and the other Airmen that she serves with.”
“My husband just retired after serving for 24 years . Hes dealt with hardships from the civilian world, unable to connect with the retired community. He deserves this.”
“My husband served 21 years in the Navy on submarines. He LOVED it! If he wasn’t serving on a sub (6 of them), he was volunteering for a deployment on another, or doing pre-deployment inspections for them. AND, he only had shore duty TWICE in all those years!! Even though he was gone a lot he was always a great dad and husband, making sure we knew we were loved and thought of.”
“Even during his busiest times Justin always finds makes time for his family. He is supportive to me and all of our kids and makes every effort to be there for every part of our lives.”
“He is great husband and father. He’s currently serving as Drill Sergeant at Fort Eustis. He puts everything he has into work and makes sure everything at home is taking care of before he handles what he wants to do in the time he has off.”
“Paul served 26 years as a MH-53E Airborne Mine Countermeasures Aircrewman. I know he would love to have our backyard made over as it has been a sore spot of his since we moved here in 2009!”
