Military Hero

Brian was nominated by Michele: Even though I am no longer married to Brian Grovesteen, I have always had great pride in his choice to serve our country. He enlisted into the Army in 1995 and not long after we welcomed our first child. During his 10 years he experienced a year in Korea without his family, secured the Pentagon when our country was turned upside down by terrorists and spent time in Afghanistan and Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. By the end of his 10 year enlistment we had two girls and a son. My ex husband now still serves as a Virginia Beach Police Officer with the 3rd Precinct. He has been serving the city for 13 yrs. I am so proud of his selfless choice to be a first responder. He loves to fish on his downtime.
