“Aaron served in the Coast Guard for 20 years and is a loving husband, father and a hard worker.”
“John is a military man to his core. As the son of a Chief Warrant Officer 2, he was inspired to serve his country in the Army. After separating from the military, he continued to serve his country through work that allowed him to partner with the military. Later, John’s heart for service led him to become a member of the Civil Service. He has always maintained a connection to the military and his love of all things military has only grown stronger over the years. It would be impossible to find anyone who is more dedicated to the mission than John. He always places the needs of his country and her people above his own. He is eager to teach and share his knowledge with others. Even as a Civilian, he always remains “inspection ready” at all times. Those who are blessed enough to know him and love him are better for it.”
“Mike is about to hit his 14 year mark and looking forward to the last 6! Mike gives everything he can to every person he knows. He’s an incredible person, husband and father. He juggles being at a fast paced, demanding command as an ITC and having two young sons at home, flawlessly. The boys and I are so very lucky to have him in our lives and I’m so grateful our sons have him to look up to. We love you!”
“Jason, a 31 year veteran with service on both the east and west coast, has demonstrated significant leadership and technical skill as an electronic technician, and H60 helicopter hoist mechanic. He has assisted in saving countless lives in dangerous situations on the Alaska coastline. As a leader, Jason has earned the respect of his peers and subordinates through his calm demeanor and ability to provide solutions during challenging times. As a prime manager for the H60 program, Jason has overseen and supported the efforts of the Coast Guard across the country. The Coast Guard, while often being underfunded, work tirelessly to provide safety and security to our shores and waterways. Jason has demonstrated time and again that heroes do not back down even when facing difficult and long odds. We are proud of his efforts to serve our country.”
“Joerg Schulze is a military man through and through. After serving in the German Navy he came to the US to serve in the US Army. He’s a devoted family man and has 2 young children whom he loves dearly. He has been of fan of FM99 since he first moved to VA and has participated in numerous events. He loves the station and never misses an opportunity to get into events. He should be recognized for the wonderful man that he is!”
“Paul is a Navy Veteran with over 17 years of active service and still going strong. He has risen quickly through the ranks and is currently a Chief Petty Officer like his father was before him. His vast experience spans across diesel repair to submarine communications during his sea tours. On shore he served on the Presidential Support Staff for Communications and now currently serves as a communications expert and leader of junior sailors. At home, Paul is a devoted Husband and Father of two boys. He comes from a patriotic family with his Father serving over 20 years as a chief petty officer and a father-in-law who is still Active. Paul’s sacrifices have not gone unnoticed and he is doing his part to safeguard our country and preserving our freedom and way of life! Paul is our Hero! We Love You!”
“My son Brandon joined the Navy 10 years ago. He’s a E6 petty officer first class station at Little Creek. I’m also going to nominate his younger brother Patrick he joined the army reserve college program at UCF.”
“My wife is currently stationed on the USS Eisenhower and just returned from their deployment to the Red Sea. As a prior service Marine and current dependent, the strength she displayed throughout this deployment has left no doubt in my mind of who my own personal hero is in this world. To have achieved what she has, all the while maintaining our home life as her number one priority, is something I will forever be grateful to the Lord for having her in my life.”
“Rick has led an amazing career in the Coast Guard! He recently retired after 31 years of active military service and loves listening to classic rock, so I knew this would be appropriate! He has served 10+ tours across the nation for the Coast Guard in positions such as Migrant Interdiction, Port Authority, and as the captain of a buoy tender, the CGC Juniper. Rick’s career also had many accolades. One of my favorites was in 1994, when, upon seeing an infant separated from its mother in the water during a Haitian Migrant Interdiction, Rick dove in head-first, dressed fully in law enforcement gear, to save the infant from drowning. He is cited for this within the Coast Guard Academy’s Hall of Heros. On top of his career, he also has volunteered for the national ski patrol as a senior alpine patroller for 35+ years now, and is an amazing father to five children, four of which are internationally adopted. He is a hero to me, and a big inspiration to everybody around him!”
“Signed up at age 17, was in Beirut when they bombed our boys there, the second Persian Gulf war and then on to Afghanistan for back-to-back tours. Thirty-two years later he has retired.”
“He is my sons best friend and almost like my adopted son. He served his country for over 10 years until he was medically discharged. He dedicated his life to the Navy and even when he diagnosed with diabetes and cancer, he kept pushing on and continued serving until he was no longer was able to. He has a wife and two daughters whom are his life. Both of his parents are disabled and he is always there to help them but he is like that with everyone he meets. In my eyes he will always be a Military Hero.”
