Military Hero

Sergeant Seth Marks was nominated by Amanda, who had the following to sauy about him: "SGT Marks started his military carrier in 2013 at Ft Leonardwood MI, upon completion of basic training as a 12B (Combat Engineer) he was sent to Ft. Bliss where he was activated to deploy overseas to Afghanistan. SGT Marks’ job was route clearance which entailed looking for IED’S (improvised explosive device) and UXO’S (unexploded ordnances). SGT Marks would leave with a small platoon sized element and travel around the roads of Afghanistan finding and defusing bombs so our military personal would travel safely without getting blown up. Over the next set of years SGT Marks became a C.R.O.W (common remotely operated weapon station) and Talon operator (Bomb robot) and would begin to train countless soldiers on how to operate these systems. Along with the tasks of training on these systems to 12Bravos he would teach classes on IED and UXO to 88H (cargo handlers) and 88M (transportation specialists) on indicators on what to do if they should come across such items, he would even go as far as training for ambush scenarios from his experience overseas. SGT Marks eventually went to non-commissioned officer school. In 2021 SGT Marks came down with COVID and was hospitalized from August to November. SGT Marks was put into a medical coma where he lived on a ventilator and eventually had a trac put in. SGT Marks has several complications while in his coma state, one his severe issues was that he had developed blood clots in his dominate left arm and was unable to use his hand. From December of 2021 to January 2022 SGT Marks went through rehabilitation in which he learned how to walk, talk, and attempt to use his hand again. In February of 2022 SGT Marks sister unit was understaffed and needed volunteers for a deployment. SGT Marks’ selfless service answered that call without hesitation. SGT Marks was then send to Ft. Hood TX where he prepped for his next adventurous deployment. SGT Marks deployed to Iraq and Kuwait where he worked with Special Forces, 89D (EOD), military police and several transportation units. During SGT Marks’ time overseas he was in an explosion where he was thrown around a gunner’s turret like a rag doll. Even though SGT Marks sustained several injuries he continued to teach and go on missions against the recommendations of his medic, because he believed the mission was greater than himself. SGT Marks is currently working on his Medical Retirement as a reservist at FT. Eustis Va." THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, SETH!

Emily is determined and continues to defy the odds against her. If there is 1 person, that has always stood by me (15yrs), when I’m acting my worst, Emily is the 1 and I will continue picking Emily over anyone else. She may not always like my opinions, nor agrees with me, and even though, I don’t always say that she does an amazing job to her, Emily holds her own pretty darn good. I am very proud of my wife and continue to be there for you (even if she doesn’t see it).”
