Aviation Electronics Technician Petty Officer First Class Mary Harmon was nominated by her husband John, who had the following to say about her: “After serving 20 years of active duty in the worlds finest Navy, Mary went on to continue serving our service members by work for the Virginia Department of Veterans Services reviewing medical records and submitting disability claims to the VA. Mary rapidly became well known for her knowledge and service members from all services around the country sought her expertise. Her dedication to our past service members resulted in thousands of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen getting the benefits they earned. From WWII to present day conflicts she helped Vets and their families find peaceful post service living. Recently, Mary has retired from her job and is now focused on her family.”
