Marcie was nominated by TJ Farley:
My wife spent 25 years in the NAVY. She balanced a Navy career and family. When she was due to retire at 24 years they came and asked if she would do another year. Without hesitation, she extended for another year.
She had our first child at 16, but was still able to graduate high school, then joined the Navy. And for 25 years she served her country. She never asked for any accolades, for her she was just serving her country and doing her job to the best of her ability.
I know that I am biased, but not only was she a great sailor, but she is a great wife and mother. Her greatest attribute is she makes sure everyone is taken care of. She mentored so many sailors and was genuinely excited when they were promoted or got some sort of recognition. She wanted to make everyone around her better.
Our youngest son is in the Navy and she still mentors him. There are service men and women around us and if they have a question or there is a problem, she will guide them to get it taken care of. Even though she is retired, she still helps others.
