Erik Johnson, US Army

I am a veteran, with 11 years of active duty service, and four years in the reserves. I originally was an infantrymen, and was wounded in combat in 2004. After 2 years of rehabilitation, I was deemed fit to stay in, but due to my injuries, I had to reclassify to a different job. I became a medic. I served in that role for several years, with two additional deployments afterwards, to Iraq, and Afghanistan. After leaving active duty, I returned home to Virginia Beach, and continued with the reserves at Ft Eustia, as well as becoming a civilian paramedic. I left the service all together in June of 2018. I still serve the community as a paramedic with a medical transport service. I will also be getting married this coming June.
