Celebrate Freedom – Chesapeake City Park
- Friday, July 3, 4 p.m. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
- Bring your own chairs and blankets to listen to patriotic concert music
- Free event, $10 on-site parking (cash only)
Portsmouth
Shaggin’ 4th of July Waterfront Celebration – High Street Landing
- 5 p.m. – fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
- A beach music party with live music and fireworks
Hampton
Stars Over Hampton – Downtown Hampton Waterfront
- 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. Fireworks, drone show, and live music
Newport News
Stars in the Sky – Victory Landing Park
- Saturday, July 4, 6- 9:15 p.m.
- Free family celebration with food vendors, live music, and fireworks along the James River. Fireworks show at 9 p.m.
Suffolk
Stars and Stripes Spectacular – Constant’s Wharf Park & Marina
- Music begins at 6 p.m., fireworks at 9 p.m.
Independence Day Celebration – Riverwalk Landing
- Free all-day event starting with a parade down Main Street at 9 a.m.
Fireworks show over the York River
- 9:15 p.m.
Smithfield
Town of Smithfield Fireworks – Downtown Smithfield
Thursday, July 2, at 9:30 p.m. The firework display will shoot off from Clontz Park, with good viewing from the Smithfield station and along the river.
