Superstorm: Fellow TV weathermen at odds in libel lawsuit

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A legal storm is stirring between two TV weathermen in Ohio.

Bob Nunnally, a meteorologist with Columbus NBC affiliate WCMH has filed a libel lawsuit against fellow station forecaster Jym Ganahl, the Columbus Dispatch reports.

The lawsuit, filed Nov. 5, claims Ganahl and potentially another individual made false, written statements in June that injured Nunnally in his “trade or profession” and exposed him to “ridicule, hatred or contempt.”

The complaint did not say what Ganahl is accused of writing. Nunnally’s lawyer told the Dispatch that she wants to provide the material to the court under seal to avoid further injury.

Ganahl, who has been with WCMH since 1979, did not comment, but his attorney told the newspaper the claims are “not viable,” and hoped “upon reflection, Mr. Nunnally will dismiss the complaint.”
