Pink Floyd star Roger Waters is facing a boycott ahead of his upcoming show in Germany after he beamed a Star of David symbol onto a flying inflatable pig during a recent gig.

The rocker, who called for a boycott of Israel earlier this year, came under fire from Jewish groups after he flashed the symbol onto the stage prop during a The Wall Live Tour concert in Belgium earlier this month.

Now Jewish leaders in Germany have called on followers to snub Waters’ performance in Dusseldorf on 6 September over the stunt.

Michael Szentei-Heise, director of the Jewish Community in Dusseldorf, claims the musician is an “intellectual arsonist” whose stage act used “anti-Semitic and National Socialist imagery”.

The imagery was especially powerful as the Jewish faith prohibits followers from consuming pork products.
