Ailing rocker Deryck Whibley has been seen in public for the first time since his shocking revelation that years of alcohol abuse left him close to death.

The Sum 41 frontman was seen looking extremely frail and thin as he was helped to walk around a Los Angeles neighborhood by his fiancée Jocelyn Aguilar and another woman on Monday.

The appearance comes days after Whibley took to his website to tell fans he has been seriously ill after heavy drinking resulted in his liver and kidneys collapsing.

Whibley has spent a month in hospital fighting for his life, but it is not known whether he remains under doctors’ care or has been discharged.

He previously wrote on his health battle, “If I have one drink the doc’s (sic) say I will die. I’m not preaching or anything but just always drink responsibly. I didn’t, and look where that got me.”
