Man arrested for allegedly groping ‘Modern Family’ star

A male fan has been arrested for groping actress Sarah Hyland at an event in Australia this week.

The “Modern Family” star was posing with fans at a party at The Sebel Pier One in Sydney on Tuesday, when an unidentified male, who asked her for a picture, grabbed her breast.

Following the incident, the 23-year-old abruptly left the venue and took to Twitter.com to apologize for leaving early.

She wrote on Thursday, “Sorry to all the fans outside the qantas event that I didn’t get to say hi to but I had to leave due to an inappropriate touch of a fan.”

Police officials confirm the man has since been arrested.

A spokesperson tells MailOnline.com, “A man is assisting police with investigations following an alleged indecent assault of a woman yesterday. It is alleged the man indecently assaulted the 23-year-old woman … A 29-year-old man was arrested. Police are continuing their investigations.”
