Kid Rock has slammed Madonna for allegedly turning her back on the people of their native Detroit, Michigan.

The “Born Free” hitmaker was talking about the city’s financial problems on the news show Squawk Box, when he turned on Madonna for not doing enough to help the people she left behind when her career took off.

Rock, real name Robert James Ritchie, said, “Madonna ain’t done nothing (sic) for Detroit!”

Kid Rock has funded a music exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum, a scholarship at Wayne State University and he has also staged a performance to raise $1 million for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, according to the Huffington Post.

Officials for the city of Detroit filed the largest-ever U.S. municipal bankruptcy case in July.

Madonna has yet to respond to Kid Rock’s remarks.
