He entered the active Navy in June of 1973, and he advance to the rank of E-6 (DS1). He left active service in June 1979 serving at RTC San Diego, NTC San Diego, Mare Island and DLG/CG-23 (USS HALSEY). He entered the Reserves in 1985 and advanced to the rank of E-8 (FCCS) The DS rate was disestablished, and he was made an FC because of his AEGIS background. He was affiliated with NTC San Diego, NRPAS ( Naval Reserves Pasadena) NTCTAMS, FTG and then finally CDSA DAm Neck when he moved in 1995. He made E-7 (Chief) in September 1993 and retired as the SEA and E-8 in April 2003 from CDSA DAm Neck.He was a member of the Tidewater CPO Association.
