My nominee is my best-friend, my hero, my roommate, my competition, my torpedo, my crutch, my devil-dog, my defender and my soul-mate. Hes the greatest man I have ever met. Dustin is the friend that everyone needs. Hes the one who makes you laugh when you are sad, and the one who is always there to lend a hand. Dustin has been to Iraq once, and Afghanistan twice. He has lost many whom he cares about, and been there for the ones who needed him the most.
What makes one so strong? From moving from his Ohio family when he was 18, deploying for 10 months on multiple occasions, from losing friends, from moving so much you cant keep friends; I have no idea what makes this man so strong. But his tattoo says it all ” I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me”
He leaves next week to go to the MACE in Quantico VA, where we will continue with his martial arts instructor courses’. He is currently a CQB (Close Quarter Battle) Instructor at Northwest Annex,on Battlefield, where ALL of the marines there spend precious amounts of time with students, co-workers, and even the Chesapeake police dept, insuring to teach them proper safety when handling weapons.
