The Tournament Director for this years event, Don Clark, hopes that this tournament will set a record in cash and food donations for Southeast Virginia Food Bank. The two clubs have enjoyed the support and generosity of over a1000 players and sponsors since the first local Ice Bowl in 1997.

The Ice Bowl was established in 1987 in Columbia , Missouri by the editor of Disc Golf World News, Rick Rothstein with the mandate, No Whimps-No Whiners because the event cannot be cancelled due to weather. Who knew back then that the event would grow to over 3100 events worldwide and raised over $ 2.5 Million to date to fight hunger and feed the hungry.
